Welcome to Gifts by Lauryn!
This shop started as a pandemic passion project. A way to create art and sell it to support the dancers of NYCB when the theaters were closed. The shop continues to evolve as I find new ways to connect my passions for art, ballet, dance history and books.
Highlights
This season's shop highlights include ornaments and sweatshirts illustrating some of our favorite dancers in our favorite ballets. There are also vintage NYCB souvenir programs, and out-of-print books authored by former NYCB principals.
Purpose
I hope to honor and celebrate the dancers who came before us by hanging them on our Christmas trees or wearing them proudly around the studio. The books in the shop are all duplicates of ones in my personal collection and I hope they make their way to a loving bookshelf where they will be treasured!
About Lauryn
I am a dancer living in NYC. I am a freelance graphic designer, an usher at the New York City Ballet, an avid book collector, and a self-proclaimed "dance history curator." I collect tidbits of ballet history and archival photos and present them on Instagram in real-time as the ballets are being performed on stage.
